CW Celebrates Black History Month

The National Association of Black Accountants club at The College of Westchester hosted its annual Black History Month event with notable guest speakers; Mayor Rainey of the City of Peekskill; AJ Woodson, Editor-In-Chief of Black Westchester & Co-Owner of Urban Soul Media Group; and Michelle A. Nicholas, Executive Director of Girls Inc. Westchester.

Students were engaged as our panel talked about their life experiences and obstacles they had to overcome. Inspiration was a theme of the panel discussion as Mayor Rainey said “…always find inspiration in whatever it is you want to do…Do not be a bystander, be an up-stander; think about who you can inspire,” said Ms. Nicholas. Mr. Woodson added “follow your dreams…!”

Thank you to all of our guests and for being such an inspiration to our students!  Hear final words of encouragement from our guests:
