Congratulations to our Students of the Semester in the Day College; Kristi Pantalone and William Deynes.
As Student of the Semester recipients, Kristi and William demonstrate academic excellence and effort in their degree program and hold a minimum of a 3.8 GPA. Kristi and William were selected by the faculty as Students of the Semester in the Day College. Read about Kristi and William.
Kristi Pantalone is a student in the Medical Assistant Management program with a 3.81 GPA. She has been on the dean’s list every semester and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Kristi is originally from Wappingers Falls, NY and currently resides in White Plains.
Kristi did not finish high school, instead she went to work. However, after having children, she wanted to show them the importance of an education and went on to receive her GED. However, after receiving her GED she continued to work, putting aside her desire to attend college. After Kristi’s marriage ended, she realized she wanted a career. In 2019, with the support of her daughter, she registered for classes at CW; and just like that, Kristi was a college student.
Since beginning her college journey, Kristi has pushed forward no matter what bumps she hit along the way, which included having to leave for a semester to care for her son after a severe Pituitary Tumor surgery. During that time away, it only reassured her more, that her decision to be a Medical Assistant was the smartest decision she had ever made, besides having her children of course. In addition, as she loves to say: “better late than never!”
Kristi would like those reading this to know, “it is never too late to follow your dreams. In addition, do not expect or rely on others to make dreams come true for you. For it is only you, who holds the power to do that.”
William Deynes is a Bachelor of Science student studying Information Technology and has maintained a 3.85 GPA. He has been on both the president’s and dean’s lists. William hails from the Bronx and attended Herbert H. Lehman High School.
William chose CW for its small class sizes, the courses offered in the information technology field, career placement, and the scholarships and financial aid offered by the College.
William is certified in PC Pro, Desktop Pro, and Network Pro. He is also a Certified Copper Cabling Specialist. His goal is to become a world class Game Designer/Programmer.
