This past year has posed a challenge to everyone all over the world. Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention is no different. There were setbacks with screenings and early detection, and fundraising was limited due to unprecedented times. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and more than 300,000 people were diagnosed with the disease in 2020. Non-profit organizations such as Support Connections can use our support.
CW’s Health Professions students were excited to be able to do what they do best, and that’s promote health awareness and raise funds for such a worthy cause at the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Event. This year’s theme is ‘We are Always with You’. The event raised $500 and will be donated to Support Connection, Inc.
School of Health Professions Professor and Club Moderator, Prof. Samwell said of the club, “I’m so proud of the club members as well as the 1st year students who make this event a great one. I appreciate their enthusiasm and team work and willingness to support each other.” Prof. goes on to state that “it’s faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes a life worth living.”
