Learning, networking, and meeting new people are pivotal components for a successful business. Recently CW’s Enactus Club hosted an entrepreneur’s expo to inspire our entrepreneur students to showcase their products and services to the CW community.
With the slogan, “Real Classes for Real People”, CW student Katherine Jimenez, who runs her own dancing academy, was one of the entrepreneurs invited to talk about her business during the expo. She talked about the beauty of dancing Latin music rhythms like, salsa, merengue, and bachata. Katherine said her networking experience was unique and exciting, “I had a fantastic experience at the expo. I received great feedback and many people signed up to receive further information about my classes. It was great to network with other business professionals in the area.”
Other professionals present at the expo included reps from the Microsoft store in Westchester; Slyvia Herzog, Program Director of Westchester from Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC); as well as SCORE Westchester. SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, with more than 10,000 volunteers in 300 chapters. Charles Auerbach is a business mentor covering the Westchester area for SCORE, “I’ve been talking to a lot of great students who are already thinking of running or already running their own business. My goal is to teach them that being an entrepreneur is not an easy road. It takes a lot of discipline, dedication and patience. However, there are resources available for them and SCORE is one of them.
This successful expo was hosted by the Enactus Club at The College of Westchester.
