Day College Students of the Semester

Congratulations to our Students of the Semester in the Day College; Amoya Nicholson and Jimmy Ramirez.

Amoya and Jimmy were selected for this distinguished accolade by the Day College Faculty because of their demonstrated academic excellence and effort in their degree program, in addition to holding a minimum 3.8 GPA. Read more about Amoya and Jimmy here:

Amoya was born in Clarendon, Jamaica, and attended Glenmuir High School; a prominent school in her district. Amoya chose The College of Westchester because she was impressed with the Information Technology program, but what sealed the deal was the amiable nature of the various faculty members.

Choosing Information Technology as her major has been one of the best and most rewarding decisions Amoya has ever made in her life. Amoya is excelling in the program, and is currently on the President’s List. Amoya will be graduating in June of 2022 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.

Amoya’s goal is to use her degree to gain experience in the various aspects of information technology before she specializes.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Jimmy attended high school at the Bronx Guild High School. After high school, he went on to work three different jobs for nine years before deciding to go back to school and pursue a career in accounting.

Jimmy Ramirez chose to attend The College of Westchester because a very close friend, who also motivated him to enroll, graduated from CW and explained to him how this school was the best option. Jimmy is due to graduate with his associate's degree in December and begin his career goal as an accountant.

Jimmy plans to go back for his bachelor's degree and hopes to obtain a CPA license and start his own business one day.
